01 ARCHITECTURE

Before I designed digital products, I designed buildings

Architecture taught me to see design not as solving a single problem, but balancing many competing needs. People, clients, engineers, planners and communities all bring different priorities, alongside the realities of budget, regulation, context and the constraints of the site.

The challenge is bringing those forces together into one coherent solution.

It taught me to think holistically — to understand the wider system, navigate competing priorities and recognise that every design decision affects something beyond itself.

02 / INTO TECH

A three-month contract in tech changed the trajectory of my career

In 2016, while studying architecture, I took what was meant to be a three-month contract as an Account Manager to help pay my way through university.

The role put me directly in front of customers, where I learned how to listen, sell an idea and understand what people genuinely value.

But the longer I spent in tech, the more curious I became about the products I was selling — why they worked the way they did, how those decisions were made and, increasingly, how they could be better.

03 / PRODUCT DESIGN

That curiosity eventually became a new direction

When I decided to move into digital design, I didn’t want to simply learn the tools. I wanted to understand the theory behind designing for the web, so I returned to university for a Master’s in Digital Media Design.

In 2022, I transitioned into Product Design, where a new question emerged:

That question led me to a second Master’s in Visual Communication: Graphic Design, developing my ability to turn complex thinking into ideas that are clear, compelling and easier to act on.

How do you make a complex idea clear enough for others to see what you see?

MY PHILOSOPHY

I design beyond the interface, considering the complete relationship between people, products and the systems in which they operate.

I’m interested in the bigger picture — understanding the problem behind the problem, connecting the dots others might overlook, and turning complexity into something clear, useful and considered.

MY APPROACH

Seeing the whole

I step back to understand the wider system and how each decision affects it.

Listening with intent

Working with customers taught me to listen, ask the right questions and understand what matters.

Making complexity cleare

I use visual communication to turn complex ideas into something clear and accessible.

Connecting the dots

I find connections between people, products and business needs that can reveal new opportunities.
