THE QUESTION

Could the practice remain distinct while still connecting into the wider platform?

Could the practice remain distinct while still connecting into the wider platform?

Accountants needed a focused environment for managing their practice and moving between client work, while Intuit was also exploring a broader platform experience for the firm. Mental Model A tested whether those two contexts could remain distinct while still feeling connected.

WHAT CHANGED

A clearer and more scalable structure

The model separated the accountant’s practice environment from the wider firm platform while maintaining connections between the two. Accountants could move between firm-level capabilities, their personal practice environment and individual client books without collapsing everything into a single product context.

Practice-led experience

IAS remained the accountant’s primary environment for managing practice and client work.

Firm capabilities through Fusion

Broader operational capabilities sat within Fusion and connected back into the practice experience.

Client books remained distinct

Accountants could move into individual client environments without losing the separation between practice-level and client-level work.
